PERAMALNEWS ■ Bali as a tourist destination is a gathering place for tourists from various countries. It is undeniable that this phenomenon has an impact on many numbers of drug abuse cases on the Island of the Gods.

Therefore it is necessary to anticipate the number of drug abusers. Responding to this matter, Head of BNNP Bali Brigadier General Pol. Putu Gede Suastawa, Tuesday (3/5) said that companies engaged in tourism accommodation should organize various programs aimed at improving employee quality and improving healthy living in the work environment.

One of them is by providing information regarding the dangers of drug abuse. "BNNP Bali runs a ball pick-up program, so we go to companies, offices, schools and even homes to provide P4GN socialization," said Brigadier General Suastawa, accompanied by Head of BNNP Prevention and Community Empowerment (AKM) Ketb Suandika.

According to him, there are currently 73 new types of narcotics in Indonesia. Therefore, he appealed to the public never to try using any type of drug.

When using drugs, 10 percent of the human brain has been damaged because there are three drugs, namely habitual, tolerant and addictive. While the private sector is at the top of the list of drug users.

There are several causative factors, such as financial ability, the pressure of work, doping to increase work stamina and high stress levels trigger individuals to use drugs.

In addition, erroneous information stating that drugs can increase stamina and provide a sense of pleasure and confidence for its users.

"The strategic role of the private sector in the P4GN effort, namely implementing anti-drug-based development in the work environment, providing drug counseling, actively participating through CSR activities, early detection of drug abuse through urine tests, and establishing anti-drug officers in the work environment," he said.
