TNI Sends Troops To Secure Trans Papua Development


IKI NEWS 600 TNI soldiers from Battalion 431 Kostrad Makassar and Battalion Zipur 8 Makassar, Saturday (03/09/2019) arrived at Amamapare Portsite, Timika, Papua.

The troops who will be involved in the Trans Papua Task Force and Road Construction Bridge in Nduga Regency departed from Makassar to Timika using KRI Dr Soeharso, a Navy-owned hospital ship.

The Commander of the 172 / Praja Wira Yakti Kol Military Command, Jonathan Binsar Sianipar, as the Commander of the Trans Papua Road and Bridge Construction Project Operation, led the apple reception for 600 TNI soldiers from Makassar on the KRI Dr Soeharso deck.

Kapendam XVII / Cenderawasih Colonel Inf Muhammad Aidi said that 600 TNI troops immediately left for Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua.

Aidi said, a number of advance troops left for the Kenyam District by helicopter and others would use the land route along the river.

He estimated that the team going to Kenyam District by land would take three days to arrive at Kenyam. This was conveyed by Aidi, as released by Tribunnews on Saturday (03/09/2019).

"Earlier this morning after the embarkation process (departure), the advance team left for Kenyam Nduga by helicopter while the rest of the troops will depart via the river lane, which is estimated to take three days," Aidi said.

Aidi said the troops were tasked with securing and building 21 bridges of the Trans Papua Road in Nduga District, Papua.
